Mental Health

The older population is growing and age-related disability and infirmity is on the increase. This, coupled with the strain on residential care resources and hospital care capability, has led to a deterioration in mental health within the older generation.

This dramatic drop can be largely attributed to the lack of independence that comes with infirmity. Combating this by installing a Stiltz Homelift will offer more years of independence whilst remaining in their beloved family home.

Aside from the benefit of independence, many of the products that have been developed for accessibility carry the stigma of old age, which can impact mental health. Having a more modern solution such as a homelift installed will remove the negative connotations that currently surround mobility products and boost mental health.


Installation

Stiltz Homelifts use their own teams of builders and installers to ensure ongoing quality of customer service to both OTs and the end user. The teams work in tandem to quickly and efficiently prepare the property with minimum disruption to residents.

In some instances, installations are carried out by Stiltz Premier Partner dealers. These installers undertake the same rigorous levels of product training as Stiltz own staff and in the event of the installation being particularly complex or sensitive, a Stiltz supervisor or team leader can be present to ensure the process is completed successfully.


Service

It’s recommended that you have your Stiltz Homelift services on an annual basis to ensure that everything is still working smoothly. The Stiltz customer support team keep track of all purchases and will be sure in inform customers once their annual service is approaching.

Services are carried out by the fully authorized and trained Stiltz installation team.


CSR

Stiltz is a young business and is still in the process of building up both its team and its processes. The company is passionate about ‘giving back’ and a robust CSR policy is being developed. Once approved, this will be published here.

Stiltz Homelifts are competitively priced to ensure that best value for money can always be provided both to local authorities, OT specifiers and to the end user. We offer bulk purchase discounts and are happy to negotiate contractual terms for ongoing business. We will match competitors’ pricing if quoted on a like-for-like basis.

Safety

All Stiltz Homelifts are fitted with advanced safety features which always factor in user comfort and security. We take the safety of our customers extremely seriously. Our homelifts have been designed and tested to make them simple to use and dependable to own.

Sensors top and bottom

The safety pans on the top and underneath the lift car have multiple microswitches all of which detect contact with immovable objects, stopping the lift immediately or preventing it from moving should something or someone be stood on the lift car lid upstairs.

Winding mechanism safety features
The hoist at the top of the lift car is the heart of our homelift’s mechanical and electronics technology and this is where many of the safety features are concentrated.

The drum has automatic fall arrest detection so if the lift were to suddenly accelerate, a brake would be applied to the cable drum and bring the lift to a gradual and safe stop. Sensors also monitor the balance of the Homelift care and detect if the lift is overloaded.

Light curtain
A unique light curtain acts as an emergency stop device – lift travel will cease immediately if the light curtain is breached, not at the point a limb becomes trapped.

Lift car safety
The lift car door locks automatically and will not open while the lift is travelling. Only once the lift reaches its final position will the door auto-unlock.

Specialist protection
Stiltz are able to customise safety levels within the homelift to allow for individual circumstances. For example, we recently installed a lift into the home of a young, wheelchair-using person who wasn’t able to control his body resulting in involuntary movements which could be quite extreme. In order to protect him while travelling in his homelift, we undertook some bespoke work on the inside of the lift, partnering with XXXXXXX to fully line the interior surface with padding to reduce risk of injury.

Accreditations
Stiltz Homelifts wheelchair lift is fully compliant with all fire safety regulations and operates in accordance with BS XXXX, EN18:41, and the European Machinery Directive.

Support

The first point of contact for an OT or Clinician dealing directly with Stiltz would be a conversation and potential site visit with the Trade Sales Director or one of his team. After this, ongoing support would be provided by XXXX and XXXXX. OTs will always have access to the Trade Sales Director at any point should there be an issue which needs to be resolved or to gain clarification on anything which remains outstanding.

 

Company Literature

From the start of the relationships with Stiltz, marketing material is made available. Including product information, full Homelift specifications or online and offline communication copy for an OT to share with their clients. Footprints can also be supplied to demonstrate the minimal size needed for a Stiltz Homelift. There is also a variety of resource information that can be located here on our Conditions page.

 

Customer Support

The Stiltz award winning support team are on hand to communicate with OT’s and with Stiltz users directly. Stiltz have a 24-hour call back guarantee as well as a maximum lead time of 48 hours for a visit following initial enquiry.

Quality

Unlike many competitive products within the mobility industry, Stiltz doesn’t outsource any of their manufacturing. With their own factory set up in China, Stiltz ensures that the Homelift product ranges are built with the best materials. Having complete control over the creation process allows Stiltz to set and uphold a high production standard.

Stiltz have a team dedicated to product development, based out of their office in the North of England. Continuing to invest in developments to the Homelift concept ensures that the quality of the product never slips as technology progresses.
